ATRIUMproperty Case Study CAA 26/01/09 (pdf)

The ATRIUMproperty solution proposed the use of vertically segmented security on a single database to segregate main and small client data. This has been achieved using the principle of User Groups: when a user is assigned to a specific User Group, only the data associated with that User Group will be visible the user. This means that users in different User Groups are only able to access their own group’s information, ensuring ease of use, dedicated word stationery and reports, and security and confidentiality of data. For example, two users from different groups performing the same query in the same software module would get the results relevant to their group only.

The solution was successfully implemented and has been working in a live environment since mid-2008, enabling work delivery, programme management and estates data to be effectively segregated between the main client and the smaller clients within a single ATRIUMproperty database.
