Keynote speech – Malcolm Williams, Head of Property at Worcestershire CC, Past-President of COPROP and ACES member (London),

Stephen Costello, Director of Property at Lancashire CC, President of FPS and Immediate Past-President of COPROP (Manchester)

Setting the scene, Malcolm and Stephen outlined the importance of good building performance as a pre-requisite to delivering efficient and effective public services.

Whole life property management – Peter Mitchell (Head of Property at Watford Borough Council) Peter focused on how a Council can take the lead in sustainable development and at the same time meet corporate objectives, using the recent re-development of Charter Place in Watford as a case study.

Strategic property management partnerships – Kevin Hines (Head of Estates & Valuation, Mouchel) As a major provider of value added services to the public sector, Kevin used recent examples to show how such organisations can assist in the process of strategic property asset management.

Property system ROI – Anita Barrett (MD, ATRIUM) Anita explained how properly structured and integrated software can help maximise building performance by enabling a strategic approach to property asset management and planning. She also examined how common problems experienced in implementing new systems can be avoided or overcome to ensure a more rapid return on investment.
