Oliver Completes China Trek

Oliver Ridgwell who is part of ATRIUM’s Sales and Marketing team took part in a charity trek along the Great Wall of China in March.

He walk 100km of the wall from Tao Chun to Xinchen. The route included some of the most remote, steepest and treacherous sections of the wall while also delivering some of the most fantastic views.

The reason for completing this task was to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign which Toby, Oliver's 10 year old brother suffers from. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is an incurable muscle wasting disease and The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign have pioneered the search for treatments and cures for 50 years. The charity have helped Toby and the rest of the family cope with the effect of the disease which includes providing a wheelchair to allow Toby to move around like most young boys, he has also recently joined a powerchair football team.

Without the support of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Toby's quality of life would be much lower and family life much tougher. Oliver has managed to raise over £3000 so far but donations can be made up until June 30th 2010.
