Manhattan Atrium on the up down under

Manhattan Atrium is very happy to announce that we have been selected by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) in the Australian State of Victoria, to provide their Asset Management system.

The DEECD is responsible for one of the largest asset portfolios in Australia. This includes 1,543 government schools, over 17,000 habitable buildings, 18,000 outbuildings and covered areas, and 8,500 hectares of land.  These assets have a cumulative value of A$15.8 billion (£8.77 billion) and collectively accommodate over 546,000 students.

The Department seeks to ensure that all facilities provide contemporary, safe and sustainable learning environments aligning with Victorian Government priorities for educational infrastructure and best-practice educational methods. The Department achieves these outcomes through a number of capital works programs and operational programs annually which includes capital works of A$200-500 million (£110-277 million) per annum) and operational programs costing approximately A$150 million (£83 million) per annum.

The Atrium EAM system forms an essential building block of devolved responsibility into the future, capturing detailed data on all Victorian government school facilities and providing this information to schools, enabling them to manage and maintain their facilities to a high standard.

The Department takes on the following system modules to help with both operational management of their estate and strategic capital planning:

  • Portfolio
  • Estates
  • Assessments
  • Works
  • Occupancy
  • Performance
  • Modelling
  • Forecasting
  • Programming

The implementation project began in earnest in March 2014 and has quickly progressed allowing additional modules to be brought into the phase 1 requirement.

The implementation of the Atrium Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solution to DEECD will be undertaken over 3 phases and will replace 22 systems in total and save them A$54 million (£30 million).  Phase 1 of the project will replace their current SAMS and save them A$900,00 (£500,000) in licence fees alone.
